Alberta Pioneer Camp is a Christian camp that is all about leadership development. As such, our staff are highly committed, enthusiastic, Christian volunteers who are university age students or adults. What makes Pioneer Camps unique in Canada? One aspect is our out-tripping program for all our camps. All campers will spend one to four days on a trip, depending on the camp they attend. Whether it be river canoeing, day hiking, backpacking, or horseback riding, each trek is unique and builds skills and character. We’re into horses in a big way. For most of our campers, riding is a highlight. For those interested, riding is available in two hour blocks. Campers at our two-week camps who choose a riding out-trip spend a large part of each day riding on their trek.
