Established in 1998 and located in the heart of a park along the St.Lawrence River, l’École de cirque de Verdun Day Camps have brought joy to thousands of children over the years during the summer. The specialized École de cirque de Verdun Day Camps are intended to young people from 5 to 12 years old by allowing them to live a unique experience where they will develop their skills in the different circus arts, while having a lot of fun. Furthermore, they will have the opportunity to enrich their artistic expression by the creation and production of a show performed for family and friends, the last Thursday of the camp. Presented on a vast circus ring including all the necessary circus equipment, safe and adapted for young people, the participants take on the whole package of circus techniques during the two weeks of camp. They also have the opportunity to do trampoline, floor acrobatics, juggling, stilt-walking, tightrope, fixed trapeze, tissu, hoops, unicycle, etc. This training ends with a fabulous show where the young people dazzle family and friends with their skill and know-how. In preparation for the show, the children learn dance, role-playing and stage production, creation of props and costumes as well as make-up artistry. Since circus activities require extremely high energy, relaxation activities such as crafts, outdoor games, water games and swimming in a pool are usually offered in the afternoon. Grouped by age with a maximum ratio of 10 young people to 1 instructor, the children are supervised by instructors specializing in circus techniques who hold a recognized Life-saving Certificate. Most of our instructors are bilingual.
